Horses at Home, Sweet Home

We would all secretly like to think our horses are going to pine whilst we are away and whilst they may miss some aspects of our presence (like the treats), it is more the routine, predictability and the safety you and home represent your horse values.

Routine is Important to Horses

The reason our horses are prone to losing weight when they go off to a new home, or away for training or other reason, is because the routine and predictability are gone. In many respects, they are no different to humans who mostly like to know life leads a relatively predictable course.

The difference between horses and humans is, when our routine changes, we can rationalise what is happening. However, our horses can’t! Imagine being shipped off to a strange place and having no idea why you are going or what is going to happen. Especially if your human isn’t with you.

Safer at Home

This is the very reason horses and other pets, in the absence of familiar people, are much better staying at home where their routine and surroundings are known and safe.

Horse accidents involving your horse are far less likely if your horse is calm and secure. A calm horse is also a much safer horse for those caring for him. We’ve all been in situations where our horse has become distressed and become a danger to himself and / or handler. By having your horse cared for at home, he is much more likely to remain happy and healthy.

To give horse owners more horse care choices in late 2016 Horse Nannies came together to offer horse people the advantages of;

  • Advertising or browsing for a suitable person alleviating the need to impose on friends.
  • A message system that also included a duties list which could be ticked off as each task was completed. This list would then be sent to the horse owner for peace of mind.
  • A place where horse people could earn money to help pay for their own horse habit or even start/promote their own horse business.
  • A system with downloadable documents, suggestions such as background checks, to help horse owners make the right decision.
  • Blogs, horse care tips and a general meeting place for horse people.

New But Growing

Of course like all new services, Horse Nannies will take time to cover all regions but the feedback has been tremendous with new people coming on board every day. What we envisage is the day when all horse people are able to access other caring horse people, quickly and easily.

This is why we are reaching out and saying PLEASE JOIN US FOR FREE! Even if you don’t have a need right now, start making the connections so the next trip away is HORSE CARE WORRY FREE
